Absolutely appalled
It is with disgust and huge disappointment that I write this review. Last night we placed a telephonic order to collect our dinner treat at Steers. The lady confirmed my order ... after much confusion ... and I received my sms confirmation at 18h30. I arrived at Commercial Road Steers at 18h40 .... our order had NOT be processed and nobody knew about an order or where the slip for the order was .... after a few minutes the slip was found lying on the counter to the side. This was then handed to the cooking staff (before I had checked it or even paid for it ...) who then proceeded to individually read the receipt and pass it along the 5 man cooking line .... I again requested the receipt so I could read it and check it was correct (as the lady had seemed confused when I ordered ...). The slip was debated and then passed to me. I confirmed it was what we wanted and proceeded to pay. It was now 18h48 and still no order was being made ..... I popped across to the garage and returned literally within 5 minutes. I waited .... and waited .... and waited. Then noticed the people who had ordered after my return from the garage were receiving their orders and as I had NO SLIP and NO ORDER number I was left to wait. The cashier who had helped me was busy making milkshakes and I waited for him to finish before trying to get his attention and query the order .... it wasn't even finished yet .... this is now 45 minutes AFTER placing the original order and 30 minutes after arriving at Steers. After a further debate with the kitchen line and a further 10 minutes ... the order arrived. Minus one of the items .... this was located placed on the side and added to the packet. Eventually after nearly an hour I was ready to leave .... ONLY to get home with disgusting food which at that late hour I had no alternative but to seve it to the family. Please note that this was not a larger or difficult order .... 2 x Brat Packs, 1 x Wacky Wednesday, 2 x Get Real Junior burgers with EXTRA cheese and 1 x Cheesy fries with bacon bits ..... not big and certainly not a difficult order .... But alas ..... the rolls were disgustingly stale - i would not even give bread that old to the refuse collectors .. so the buns went into the bin .... only to discover NO CHEESE on the burgers .... after the extra charge .... no cheese .... and then the chicken was the size of a 2 year olds palm .... we measured ... So .... suffice to say .... our dinner "treat" was disgusting and very much a waste of very hard earned money .... we will DEFINITELY NOT be visiting Steers again .... EVER ...
