Unreliable and unprofessional not recommended

We had Starplex come out to give a quotation for roof repairs. Because we have had numerous issues before we specifically stated that we did not want waterproofing but a rebuild of part of the roof. A quote was supp**** with a requirement of an 95% upfront payment.

We had to source roof tiles from the factory directly which was quite an undertaking. On the day the repair was supposed to be done my husband was phoned and told that the problem is so small that it does not require a rebuild. He then said a quick fix is not what you quoted for but if it will fix the problem go ahead.

When he got home after work he was told that they had just finished. The tiles we had purchased were used to replace broken tiles without our consent. It took around 2,5 hours instead of the quoted 4 hours. When I queried and asked for a refund I was invoiced an additional R 3200.

After the first rain we found that the roof was still leaking. When I reported this I was told that they would send someone to investigate. At this point if we wanted a rebuild we would have had to go and buy new tiles again! This was around the 26th of November 2020. It is now almost 3 months later.

Our roof is still leaking. They did not stick with the work as quoted. They did not keep to their original amount. They never advised that the work would incur extra cost AND they used up our tiles so that we now cannot fix the roof as intended. I would advise strongly against using this company.
