Costly yet substandard
More expensive, with a call out fee of R1782 round Gauteng. Substandard work ; use low class PVC casings. Left with a collapsed bore hole within 6 months, pump not retrievable.

02 Jun 2026, 15:27Dear Denis,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction and would like to provide some context regarding the project.
Your borehole was surveyed and drilled in September 2024, with the installation completed in March 2025. Throughout the process, we worked closely with you to accommodate delays related to ongoing construction and aimed to support your specific requirements wherever possible.
Following installation, we assisted with water-related concerns and provided guidance on the system operation, including filters and switch-over procedures. The site handover included explanations to ensure understanding of the installed system. We also previously identified and cleaned a blocked AZUD filter and provided instructions regarding maintenance requirements.
As with any filtration system, routine maintenance is necessary. While we always strive to assist our clients, operational costs such as vehicles, staff, and equipment mean that on-site visits beyond warranty or agreed service terms may involve a call-out fee.
Regarding the casing concerns raised, we source our UPVC casing materials from a reputable supplier specialising in borehole casings and associated products. We would appreciate the opportunity to inspect any samples or materials in question, as this would allow for a fair and transparent assessment.
It is also important to understand that borehole drilling and groundwater systems are developed within naturally occurring geological and hydrogeological environments that remain dynamic over time. Subsurface conditions may change due to aquifer fluctuations, sediment migration, groundwater recharge variations, weathering processes, soil movement, flooding events, geotechnical instability, or other environmental influences. These factors can affect borehole performance and infrastructure despite adherence to industry standards and best practices.
As outlined in our quotations and contractual documentation, we make every effort to inform clients that while professional surveys, drilling methods, and installations are undertaken to the highest practical standard, no contractor can control or guarantee long-term changes within subsurface geological formations or environmental processes. Such changes are an inherent risk associated with groundwater development and can occur irrespective of installation quality.
We would also like to note that since March 2025, we had not received any further communication regarding concerns with the system. We genuinely would have appreciated the opportunity to address any issues directly before this review, as client satisfaction remains important to us and we always aim to resolve concerns where possible.
We always endeavour to assist our clients where possible and believe open communication provides the best opportunity to resolve concerns. We respect every client’s freedom to choose their preferred contractors and service providers.
Should you wish to discuss the matter further or provide a sample for inspection, we would welcome direct communication to work toward a resolution.
Kind regards,
Stark Borehole (Pty) Ltd
