Very disrespectful service
My wife is named as a beneficiary for her late father's life annuity at STANLIB. It is now over a year that her father passed away and they never took the effort to contact her. Only on the 5th of August 2015 the attorneys inform her and she submitted all documentation.

Numerous times she enquired on the status and more than once the call centre said that the responsible department/person will contact her. Up to date no one from STANLIB has taken the effort to contact her.

Why are STANLIB not contacting my wife and why is this being dragged out?

17 Sept 2015, 18:34Hello rv12,
We do understand that dealing with her late father's investment may be stressful to your wife. Unfortunately we did not have your wife or her sister's details on our system and thus re**** upon the Executors, who gave us notification of the passing of our late investor in late April 2015, to give us this information. As you are aware, this did not happen, and we are thankful that your wife finally contacted us in August.
After receiving the required documents on 20 August, as you are aware, we have to follow regulations and apply for a tax directive. Since 28 August the matter has been sitting with SARS.
We were in contact with your wife yesterday and we will again push the issue with SARS to get the tax directive finalised. Once this happens, there will be no further delay in completing the claim process.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will continue to strive to get resolution as soon as possible.
Kind regards
