Good day,
I sent this as a last hope.
In 2017 my sisters husband passed away which left her as a widow at the age of 35. She then contacted her financial advisor to help invest the money that her husband left behind.
As you can think for yourself she was devasted and placed all her trust in him. She told him that she will need a monthly income to live from as she is an estate agent who only receives a commission so her income is not regular and can not count on that to raise her children. Again, I she trusted him, he told her that he will invest her money in a fund that she will get the best interrest from. She agrees fully that he told her she will be unable to withdraw the money, but what he did not tell her is that her income will be decreasing on a yearly basis. She would never have agreed to this, as she knows that life gets more expensive every year. I am sure this was done to look after himself and not after her, I want to reiterate, not once was any of this explained to her, her emotional state was taken advantage of and I think it is digraceful to say the least. I have had other advisors look at the documentation and they are mortified to see where he placed hermoney, they cannot believe what he did.
At this stage she has a large investment but is unable to pay a medical aid, insurance or day to day expences for ger and her children. This after she placed her trust in both you and your financial advisor.
She not sleeping because of this and the advisor does not give a damn. I wish I was able to lay a case of theft or something against him for taking advantage of her grief and trust, but she signed the papers. He knew exactly what he was doing that day, looking after himself after being trusted.
Your help will be so much appreciated as this is my last resort, I have no one to turn to. I don't know where to go from here.
Please Stanlib do something, this is disgraceful, you are refusing to move her money and she and her children are suffering. She is not asking to withdraw a vast amount or for that matter anything. She is just asking, no pleading to have a say over her own money.
You are just blatantly refusing any assistince and letting her dwindle away from worries and you don't care at all!
Best regards,
