No info on my claim
Last year I was called to be informed that I was a beneficiary on 2 policies that my late father left. This was in October 2014. Since then I have had to follow up on Stanlib all the time, and recently I've received no response. I have no idea what's going on with the matter and no one is able to help me. The call centre is never able to help. There's no transparency or accountability whatsoever at Stanlib and this is surprising for a financial institution that is accountable to all stakeholders.
I wanted to get feedback and an update on the matter as soon as possible.
15 Apr 2015, 00:36Hello Mathebz,
Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. Retirement fund death claims are rather different from policy claims.
This is a death claim determination in terms of the Pension Funds Act. We will provide you with a personal response to the documentation that was finally presented to STANLIB on 3 MARCH 2015, just over a month ago. As you are aware the Trustees finalised their original determination in 2012.
We will provide you with the detailed regulatory-bound response shortly, which I am sure will give you a better understanding of the situation and constraint app**** to the administrator.
Please note that the Rules of the Classic Preservation Pension Fund and the Classic Preservation Provident Fund can be found on our website. We adhere strictly to these Rules, the Pension Funds Act, the Income Tax Act and all associated legislation and regulations applicable to Pension Funds. This provides comfort to our members that STANLIB will always protect their retirement investments.
Kind regards
