WTH SBSA? Under collection for an up to date account?!?

I've had a Standard Bank vehicle finance account for 3 years. The monthly installment is regularly deducted via debit order, with no missed payment and up to date. Received an SMS that I must contact SBSA to make payment arrangements?!? According to a Pumulelo, I am under collection, even though my account is fully up to date. Upon further prompting, he informed me that it was due to "a system error" owing to the public holiday?!? Public holiday - 2 days ago; debit order deduction - 1 day ago & collection sms - today!!!! He has to escalate to his supervisor (within collections; not customer care) for a written apology, which cannot be expected within 16 hours. WTH SBSA? NOT the way to treat your customers or to expect return business!!!

Reviewer Update
Hi SBSA,

Thank you for the call at 16:43 yesterday from Gordon. No other contact or communication received. Due to hellopeter policy, I cannot write more 1 star reviews here, but fortunately there are other public platforms available...

You stated in your reply to my review; "We take these matters very seriously and can assure you that we will be attending to your query with urgency. ", but I don't see ANY letter of apology nor an undertaking that this "system error" won't happen again in my inbox at 10:01!! I've given you the benefit of the doubt and extended that deadline to respond till after 10:30, BUT... NOTHING!!!

So how serious are you really, SBSA? If this is your level of urgency to handle this, it is frankly UNDERWHELMING to put it mildly and censored for public consumption. "We are saddened to hear..." I call BULLS@#T!!

Regards, Eben
