Worst Bank techology wise in Africa

We have had our Access Bond with Standard Bank for the last 10 years. No issues. Suddenly in August, we cannot transfer monies from the Access Bond to our Savings account. My husband goes to the Branch and they say we must FICA again! We did our FICA in 2012 and we were using the Access Bond – so why we need to do it again I don’t know. Anyway, my husband goes the next day to the Branch and FICA. I phone their department to request the Access Bond and the person tells me the request can proceed. So, after a few days, I phone them and they tell me there is some indicator that was an issue and they remove it and now they can only proceed with the access bond application. Again I don’t hear from them and I phone again. That person tells me I must FICA. I go to the Branch and FICA. The lady at the Branch tells me there is nothing wrong except my ID disappeared but that is normal it sometimes happens on the system (Can you believe this!). Then I phone the Mortgage Loans department and tell them I have FICA'd. So, I hear nothing again and phone them. Guess what there is something wrong with FICA again! The person said he will do a re-application and we should know within 3-5 working days. If approved/cancelled we will get a sms notification. Again I don’t get any feedback and I phone again. The FICA doesn’t show on their system, she says she has now corrected it and it should be granted/declined within 48 hours. Today I phone and it was declined. Why: Bond is loaded as Cost inclusive bond. Loan amount loaded incorrectly. How can an Access Bond be in place for the last 10 years. Thereafter there is some FICA issue and now the bond is loaded incorrectly on the system. Standard Bank owns the system – what is going on - how can something have changed! They NEVER provide any feedback. I have spent a lot of money phoning them to follow up just to hear that I will receive a notification sms.

That is not all. For the last 4 years I have requested them to e-mail the bond statements to me. After numerous attempts (going to the Branch and wasting my precious work time), we have actually given up. Since today, we do not get bond statements e-mailed.

Thank you for your reply. I have received a notification e-mail from your Complaints Resolution Centre advising that it will take approximatel 9 working days to investigate, i.e. deadline of 19 September 2016.

I find it very difficult to understand why it can take 9 working days to investigate. Someone needs to check our Access Bond account to see why after 10 years it is coming back with an error: "Bond is loaded as Cost inclusive bond. Loan amount loaded incorrectly."

In the meantime our savings of R200 000 is sitting in the account and cannot be used. So, we have to use our credit card for the alterations and renovations that we are currently attending to.

It will be much appreciated if this can be escalated and resolved sooner.

Regards,

Yolande

Thank you for re-activating my access bond. I was able to transfer monies from my access bond to my savings account.

However, the available balance is not calculated now in the same way it was done before it was de-activated and that means I have less available than before. Therefore it is not the same benefit that I used to have and I am looking at alternative options.

Also, I am still not receiving my bond statements via e-mail.

Regards,

Yolande

Due to the fact that Standard Bank changed the way their access bonds work now (without notifying us) it had no benefit to us. So, we paid off the home loan, cancelled the bond in the Deeds Office and then went to the branch and requested that our savings account and home loan accounts are closed.

This is a few weeks ago already and I am still getting e-mails with my statements. Also, I can login to internet banking. Surely, this should be cancelled automatically and I shouldn't receive any bank statements.
