Work-at-Home staff and their buddies
Maybe having your staff working from home is not working out. I had a query about buying Government retail bonds and was given a telephone number to call. Someone answered 'Standard Bank' but it sounded like it was a buddy visiting your working-from-home staff member because he did not know what a Government bond was and simply said I will get someone to call you. As he did not take my number I rang back and told him so. He did read my landline number back to me - so obviously the landline number I had called had been re-directed through to a cellphone, which is why my number came up. Again I got the response 'I will get someone to call you'. You can forget it Standard Bank - you are closing down your branches, ATMs are being taken out etc, pals are answering staff's phones at home. It looks like Covid has worsened South Africa's dismal customer service further.
