Woolworths and Standard bank are messing me about.

I’ve spent an entire week going back and forth between Woolworths and Standard bank trying to have an issue resolved and I have been pushed around so much. I made an online purchase with Woolworths on the 26 May to which they had charged me twice for the same purchase. I contacyed Woolworths and they told me Standard bank needs to resolve it. Only to contact standard bank and be told that Woolworths is the merchant and would need to resolve the issue. After numerous calls I was informed by Woolworths that I need to call Standard banks Authorisation department to get the issue over the line. Standard banks Authorisation department informed Woolworths that I can’t make online purchases with a debit card (even though I had done so) and that I need an order number and would need to call Standard bank to get this. I spent 30 mins on the phone with someone in the authorisations department who informed me that the information provided to myself and WW was incorrect and debit cards online purchases don’t have an order number. I was then instructed to either wait 10 businesses days for the bank to do a reversal or request that WW send a formal letter on their letterhead requesting that my funds are reversed. I had asked WW to do this only to now be told that my escalation has been cancelled and that another escalation and reference number needs to be done and sent to another department. What is this? Is it fair to be messing a client around like this? This is not only money owed to me that I am having to spend unnecessary time on trying to get back but I am also being pushed between two major retailers.
