Why are parents insured upto 5K not more

I phoned this morning and spoke to Ruth Olifant trying to increase the premium and for my father. she told me the parents can only be insured up to R5000.00 not more than that, why is that because cot of living is too high now and these people can only depend on us. again my mother passed away in January and according to Ruth se still appears on my contract, why is that. it means I am paying for more than I was not supposed to. please advise, THANKS
