What is going on standard bank
5 Honnering charges, 5? Are you guys okay in the mind?????? For a person that has a salary and pays you for services, I am surely getting the awful side. I have been bypassing the manipulation of our currency. Tell us if we must take our 2c and take it to discovery. Quick response would be appreciated

05 Dec 2023, 05:38Dear Puleng,
We appreciate you taking the time to bring this matter to our attention.
An honouring fee is charged when the remaining balance on your account is not sufficient to cover a transaction that goes off your account. For example, if there is R20 left in the account, and a debit order for R50 is set to debit, we will “honour” the transaction (up to an approved limit), thereby avoiding charging you a decline fee. In this case, the Honouring fee charged would be R50 (equal to the full transaction value honoured). If the value of the transaction is less than R100, the honouring fee will be equal to the full value of the transaction that is honoured.
We will thoroughly investigate the matter and provide you with the necessary support you need.
We truly appreciate you choosing Standard Bank, and we are committed to resolving this issue for you. We will be in touch shortly to discuss the next steps.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
