What happened to my holding deposit?

I paid a holding deposit of over 8000 to Hertz Car Hire. It then signalled on my phone that the money was indeed deducted. Then about 2 weeks later, i contacted Hertz, who then contacted Standard Bank to release my money. They said they did release on the 25th but the balance remained the same. I called Standard Bank twice already. The second lady i spoke to said that she was going to send an email to someone. I'm still waiting for the same email. Can somebody at Standard explain to me, what happened to my money.
