What are you hiding???
I took out a loan years ago and felt I had been paying for too long. To date, I have never received a statement. This year, I asked for a statement in April, no response, followed up a month later in May, still no response, until June when they said they had high email volumes. (wow! for 2 months??!). The response was basically that a statement from inception would cost me about R1,500 in total! So I asked for a summary because I want to know how many payments I have left and settle the loan. No response to this day. I stopped the debit order at my bank expecting a call from Standard Bank like they always did when my salary came in on a weekend and they pulled their funds on a weekday, but no call. I am starting to become uncomfortable with this. Why cant I just get a balance statement? Why has no one contacted me about stopping my debit order, if indeed I still owe money? All I want is proof that I still owe money or that you owe me money. It's unfair to me made to pay R1,500 for a statement I should have got, at the least, quarterly. Most banks email or post statements for FREE, including their bank details for advance payments, why cant Standard Bank do the same?
