What a bunch of Jobsworths

I tried using my card and it was refused. I looked at my credit card and saw that there was a payment of over R1,000 that I never made done at 3am. When I phoned them they told me that they had put a block on the card and it would only be removed if I could go through their security process which I was hapy to do. So firstly they sent a message on the mobile app which I verified, they then asked for my ID number which I gave them. They then asked what my overdraft limit was - a facility I have never used in over 30 years of banking with them. Because I didn't know what my limit was, they refused to help me and I would need to go into a branch - in 2025!

So here I sit - No petrol, No credit card and no way of getting home, thanks to a *****uent transacton which is due to Standard Bank's poor ability to stop it.

Thanks for nothing.

Ok so you got hold of me however the person I spoke to had the attitude of "I’m sorry but that's the rules" she seemed much more interested in ticking a box to say I had been called than actually helping me. Funny how when I had to authenticate again the original archaic authentication question (that she insisted was necessary) was not asked! There has been no attempt to explain how someone was able to use my card to make purchases without my approval, and I found out that even though I spoke to two people of your organisation yesterday no case had been opened.

My card will be blocked until I receive a new card in 5-7 working days. In the meantime, the only method your staff recommended for funding my rural travels next week is to carry large amounts of cash on my person!

You really seem to have no idea of why your customers are frustrated with your service, and as long as your call centre meets it’s metrics you think everything is fine. I’m telling you that we are not happy with your absolute failure to understand customer’s problems and inability to help.
