VEHICLE FINANCE

I have a vehicle finance with Standard bank which I took in year 2017. In year 2019, I was retrenched at work and as a result could no longer afford to pay installments. I last requested a change of payment plan which I dealt with Mr Sibusiso Shwala and Roney forgot the surname. I had agreed on a three months payment plan to settle the amount in arrears as I had recently started to work again in February 2020. I currently work in s****s development which falls under department of Higher education. On the 18th of March the president announced that all educational institutions must close early due to Covid-19, as a result I was not paid my salary in full and thus affected the arrangement in place I had made with Mr Sibusiso Shwala and Roney. I made a payment of R3400 instead of R5600. I emailed the proof of payment and explained my reasons. The country went on lockdown and could only afford to make partial payments on the amount I was owing. During lockdown I was not working and was not paid hence I made partial payments. My account was handed over to a third party which contacted me and I explained my story. I did say in June I think we will go back to work again and will settle the amount I owe which they said okay. To my surprise on the 10th of June I received a call from the third party demanding the vehicle for safe keeping as instructed by Standard Bank. The guy Ayanda was very rude and demanded my address and said he wasn't interested on what I was saying instead he was following instructions from the bank. I advised I was back at work and will make payment, still he demanded the vehicle. I have been treated so harshly by Standard Bank yet I have never missed a payment during the time I was employed and despite me not being able to honor the arrangement made with Sibusiso Shwala, I did make payments. On the 10th of June I also wrote a complaint here on Hello Peter and Standard Bank rep**** by saying my matter was escalated and email was sent to me which I did not receive any email. I have suffered the loss of employment in 2019 and had been dealing with Standard Bank sending me back and forth. The treatment I have endured is painful while saving my car.
