VAF Account Paid up letter

I requested a Paid up letter from a very old VAF account that was settled long ago. Legal told me because its was a legal letter i need to send a letter requesting the Paid up letter. I was also told it would take 48hours. That was on the 4th Sep and its 96 later and no letter, why it take so long to issue a letter for a account thats paid up only they will know. All my other creditors mailed it while i was on the phone with them, why they cannot do the same remains a mistery. Please send me a paid up letter i dont want to call every day and fight with people that dont want to help
