Useless debit card

I arrived from the UK 2 weeks ago. Tried to order Rain internet using my blue Standard bank debit card. It wouldn't work. I went into the Greenstone mall branch and explained my problem. The lady there told me the the blue card was the problem and i was given a gold debit card. I went home a d tried that carr and still that didn't work. I went back to the bank and this time i was told i needed a check card instead and i could only order that over the phone. I refused and told the teller that there was no way i could only get the card via a call and not have the option to order it in branch. I was then told i would need to a consultant in the branch. 3 hours later i had made the application though a consultant in branch. I am still waiting for that card. Today i tried to order food using the gold debit card and it doesn't work. What in the world is this useless debit card for. I really don't get why you'd create a card with such limited use.
