Urgent Issue with ATM Deposit – Money Not Recovered

On 14 October 2024, at 22:02, my cousin deposited R9,280.00 into my Standard Bank account via the Sunny Park ATM (ATM No: 0898). The deposit was meant for my bond repayment. Unfortunately, after inserting the cash, the machine displayed an error message: "We cannot process your request due to a technical problem. Please try again later" (Error Code: 0465). The ATM kept the money, displayed an "out of service" message, and then rebooted. No cash was returned.

I immediately logged a call with Standard Bank, and a reference number *** was provided. Despite visiting the branch on 17 October 2024, as requested by the consultant, I was informed that only R2,180.00 of the original amount had been recovered. This is far from the full deposit, and I am extremely concerned and frustrated.

This issue is impacting my bond repayments, and I’ve already had to contact the Home Loan department to make arrangements while waiting for Standard Bank to resolve this.

A formal complaint under Ref No: ***8 has also been logged, but I’m disappointed by the lack of urgency and the discrepancy in the recovered amount. I need Standard Bank to prioritize this matter, recover the full amount, and provide a timely resolution.

This situation is unacceptable, and I hope someone can step in to resolve this urgently
