Unwanted Payment Holiday

I received an email on 22 January informing me that I had exceeded my credit card limit and was asked to reply via email if I would like a representative to call me to discuss it.I did and I was called back on 28 January. The CSR explained that the reason I had exceeded my limit is that my January payment was not made. I have a debit order set up from my cheque account so I don't have to worry about missing a payment. The CSR explained that customers had been offered a payment holiday for January. I received 3sms'es from Standard Bank during December offering me this payment holiday. I chose not to opt in as I understand that would result in a double payment the following month and additional interest charges. I explained to the CSR that I didn't choose to take a payment holiday. She offered to deduct the full amount due (double payment plus interest charges) there and then, saying I had sufficient funds in my cheque account to do so. I declined asking that this issue be investigated, especially with regards to additional charges that had been raised. She said she would speak to a manager and call me back the next day.. she never did. I went into the South Coast Mall branch on 1 February for assistance and was directed to their in-store phone to call the customer service centre. I explained the situation to two different people and after being "put on hold" (transferred to another CSR) A service request was raised and I was told to wait until 7 February. I waited and recieved an SMS on 7 February stating that my service request has been resolved.. what does that mean? What resolution was taken? I again called the customer service centre today and was told that their was no information available and that the consultant who had dealt with my query would be asked to call me. Big surprise.. no phone call! This is absolutely ABSURD that I, as the customer, should have to chase after Standard Bank with calls, emails and visits in store to solve a problem that THEY created! The only reason I exceeded my limit was because they didn't debit my payment! My next scheduled payment date is this week! 15 February and I need a resolution to this matter before then as I shouldn't be liable for charges incurred through Standard Bank's actions.
