Unsubtle Grubbery

Since when is it ethical for a bank to deduct a home loan payment from someone's current account without immediately crediting the payment to the home loan account?!

Such conduct smells suspiciously like F-R-A-U-D.

A word of warning: Do not dare issue any fatuous, touchy-feely response to my question above--you know, the stock blurb where you tell me how important I am to Standard Bank. I want action, not annoying, placatory platitudes, okay? If you can't rectify this obvious problem immediately, don't bother attempting to contact me with meaningless rhetoric because that will only serve to infuriate me even more.

I trust that I have made myself entirely clear.

Just as expected, Standard Bank responds with a meaningless bit of prose, and even less meaningful explanation or action.

It's an utter disgrace that @hellopetercom allows companies, big or small, to get away with such deceits.

Xavier Classie, you have answered precisely nothing. My current account is with Standard Bank, and so is my home loan. This "clearance" horse apples you shamelessly dish out just won't wash, see? Because what you're saying is transparent bovine ordure. Debiting my current account and crediting my home loan is a single, simple electronic transaction IN THE SAME BANK, and there is therefore no plausible reason why there is ANY delay at all.

I suggest you try a considerably more convincing bit of mendacity next time, okay?
