Unreasonable and Bullying Tactics
I have a home loan account with Standard Bank and I owe the bank just over R20K. I have been paying R3500.00 for the last 8 to 10 months after they raised my bond repayments after I ********ly took the covid-19 relief package, prior to that I paid about R2000 per month. They have been employing unreasonable measures against me. It like they are punishing me for skipping a payment even after letting them know that I am not employed. Instead of reducing my monthly repayments, they increases my frustration by raising it to way above the amount I could afford monthly. I have been paying consistently the R3500.00 and surprisingly they are credit controlling me forcing me to pay the R4800.00 per month. So far for this month I paid an amount of R5500.00 yet that don't seems to silence their annoying calls and sms's which start from about 7:00 A.M. In my opinion, this bank is acting extremely unreasonable. They don't ask me how much I can afford they just unilaterally raises the amount whether I'm able to afford it or not the credit department demands me to pay it. I will seek legal advice on this matter! Should I now filter everything I have to satisfy the bank? How will I feed my family? Did I cause the Covid-19 pandemic which left me and many other households financially crippled after falling for their so-called relief which was rather designed to impoverish us more? Your harsh tactics and unreasonable increases on my home loan repayment make your bank repulsive to me. You have no sympathy but are just greedy. I'll never encourage others or do business with this bank! I have about 7 more months to pay off this bond if I continue paying R3500.00 per month.
