******** bullying of consumers

Unfortunately, I am in the situation where I find myself getting a third of what I used to earn. And due to this fact I'm unable to afford the installments on my vehicle which is on a lease agreement with standard bank.

I have fallen behind with my installment, but have before this happened ask for help from Standard bank on numerous option even presenting some option to them in order to either restructure my payments to an amount I can afford, which was turned down, and even more.

I finally came to a point to say that, I have to sell the car and sign an acknowledgement of debt in order to pay a minimal amount back to standard bank, of which they came back and said the I will have to pay back the shortfall on the contract amount and not the installment.

After I phoned in and spoke to a consultant on the same subject, the consultant confirmed that I will be liable only for the shortfall on the settlement amount. However the person handling my case then denied that fact and said that I will be liable for the contract amount.

I then phone in again to speak to a consultant who again confirmed that I'm only liable for the shortfall of the settlement. and if I want to continue with the consultant I'm the directed to talk to the agent again who bullies a person into a very difficult position and not really leaving a person with any other choice.

I have even consulted the law, which also confirms that I'm only liable for the shortfall of the settlement.

This is clearly bullying a person into making choices that will put him/her into more dept after already being under a lot of financial strain. This has actually caused me such a delay in resolving my finances, that I am now faced with areas accounts due to agents lying and bullying people into a corner where they have no options left and find themselves in more debt and legal battles, whilst they have tried to avoid it.

So I have both reference number of the calls and e-mails of this ******** act forced down upon a person and honestly believe it is a matter that will have to be taken public, reason for this review, and legally.
