Unfairly Treatment
In August 2015 I bought a car, Opel Mokka, 1.4 cosmo, 2015 model from McCarthy through Standard Bank for the amount of R343 609.99 When going through the payment schedule I indicated to the lady who was assisting me, that the instalment was too high and she told me that she can extend repayment period to six years of which I agreed. My monthly instalment wasR5 912.84, the last payment was supposed to be in August 2021. I then received a statement from Standard bank indicating that I still owe them R65 946.00. I then call them wanting to find out what was the money about as I have already paid up my account, the total money paid is R436 898.17, I was then told that the amount was for a balloon payment, I then told the lady that I did not sign for a balloon payment and ask her how possible was that because I paid the car for six years and I DID NOT SIGN FOR A BALLOON. Then later I was called by Standard bank Centurion to come collect the ownership papers and a settlement letter , I did that, and I thought the matter was settled. In January 2022 I was called again by Standard bank asking me when am I going to settle the balloon payment, I then told them that I did not sign for a balloon payment, In February I was called by a certain lady from the lawyers requesting me to settle my car account, I explained everything to the lady and she checked my contract and she confirmed that there was no balloon payment indicated on my contract and she apologised and told me that she will take the account back to Standard bank.
In January 2022 I went to traffic department to apply for ownership of the vehicle with the documents that I had received from Standard Bank Vehicle Finance, the lady from the department told me that the certificate for my car was blocked and a new one has been issued. I then called Standard bank to find out what was the problem and I was told that I am still owing the bank and my account had been handed over to the lawyers, and I was given telephone number *** to call, when I called the number I was told that Standard Bank has taken my account back and was told to call ***, then I called the number and was told that my account has been handed over to the lawyers, I should call Lorraine at number ***48 when I called the number it just rang once and was off.
I would be grateful if you could intervene into this matter as I feel unfairly treated by Standard Bank and they are causing a lot of stress on me as I wanted to sell the car and buy an automatic one, but I cannot do that because I do not have ownership of the car.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
