Unfairly charged an amount of R115
My debit orders go off the 1st of every month. Last month the 1st was on Friday which was a public holiday. I had thought that my debit orders will go off on Monday the 4th of January. All my d/o's did go off on Monday except for Discovery which went off the 3rd. I was on holiday during this time and was only coming back on Sunday the 3rd, and was going to deposit funds into my account that Sunday preparing for Monday when my d/o's will go off. I did deposit funds into account as I had planned on Sunday, an amount of R1500. On Tuesday I received an sms that my d/o had been returned and was charged a fee.

My question is why was I charged this fee when there were funds in my account from Sunday night? I know the answer to expect from Std Bank. I will be told it is the system that returned my d/o.

First of all, it is not the system, it is the person sitting behind a desk doing account reconciliation and behaving in an idiotic manner. It is idiotic to ignore the funds that already reflect on my account.

Secondly I don't need a bank with such a system, a system that punishes clients. I also bank with FNB and they wait 10 days before returning a d/o for self employed clients like me.
