********* business practice Standard Bank Cape Gate

Bank misrepresented the facts. I Repeatedly received notification at ATM to renew my debit card. Went into standard bank Cape Gate on Tuesday, 02 June assisted by Magdalena who informed me that my card will expire end July being the reason for ATM notification. I asked her would I have to pay for the new card. She assured me that there was no costs involved and for this reason I agreed to the issue of a new card. The next day, Wednesday 3 June I drew a statement at the same branch and noticed that I was indeed charged an amount of R145 for the card. After being with Standard Bank for a period of in excess of forty years, I find it dishonest of the bank to mislead me into believing that there would be no charge for the new card. It is not about the cost but rather the ********* business practice of the bank.
