Unauthorised debit - Home loan

My home loan was recently paid off. I have contacted standard bank 2 months in advance asking them to provide a settlement amount and to stop all debit orders.

Despite the above standard bank still debits my full home loan amount.

I have sent about 20mails and I have not received any reply.

I am currently abroad and calling into the call centre has proved difficult and very costly as I wait for about 15mins min.

6 days has passed and not a single person from standard bank has contacted me with regards to an amount of R1526.67 that is owing to me.
Not a single person has contacted me to inform me that future debits will not be deducted off my account.
Great example of how we are trapped into the debt cycle of financial institutions. Whilst the home loan was still been paid off the team use to constantly send me emails, statements and news letters. Now that I am not needed in their debt cycle I am been ignored as the financial institution (Standard Bank) now owes me money.

Good day Standard bank

The last email received from STANDARD bank is:

" Good Day Mr. Abrahams Below preference noted. I learned that you do not intend to cancel the bond yet meaning that the insurance will continue to debit from the home loan account. As previously mentioned by Jabu that the service fee and the insurance will continue to be serviced from the home loan, do you still intend to keep the bond open? Your response will be greatly appreciated." Kind Regards Sharon Masina

Nowhere does it entail or explain the amount that is owing to me or how this will be rectified. The above matter regarding keeping the bond open was already sorted out via my pvt banker 8 days prior to receiving this mail.

I ask again - My home loan was paid off. I have contacted standard bank 2 months in advance asking them to provide a settlement amount and to stop all debit orders.

Despite the above standard bank still debits my full home loan amount. After the full loan amount was debited by STANDARD BANK, I transfered the amount deducted back into my account. Amount available to transfer was R 14198.61. I transferred R14000 as it only allows in multiples of R1000. Amount debited from my account was R15526.67. Amount owing is R1526.67

Good day
It is Day #25 and this is the private message I received from STANDARD BANK on day #24
"Hello Marlin We trust that you have responded to the bankers with your enquiry"

STANDARD BANK social media team or help centre team, let me explain once again.
STANDARD BANK, allow someone that is interested in doing their job to reply with a positive answer. I have proved in 25 days the system is abnormal and disfunctional when the slave of the system becomes the master.

Remember I am abroad and not in SA to walk into a bank and finalize this, despite me communicating my overseas number on this platform and via personal mail.
XX/08/2022- Final and last payment paid via STANDARD BANK APP and sent e-mail - "Please stop all future debit orders from this account- see attached home loan POP paid up"
13/09/2022 - sent email "Hi is there any feedback on the below query"
23/09/2022 - sent email "Hi is there any feedback on the below query"
23/09/2022 - sent email to my PVT banker to assist or forward above mails to home loans department
03/10/2022 - Debit order for home loan is deducted off my account - R15526.67
07/10/2022 - PVT banker advise I should transfer R15526.67 back into my pvt account.
08/10/2022 - PVT banker confirms future debit orders are suspended. STANDARD BANK PVT banker was more efficient then home loans department even though it was not her department she had given that extra input.
09/10/2022 - From my app. I hade reversed an amount from R14000.00 into my personal account. Amount available to transfer was R14198.61. I transferred R14000 as it only allows in multiples of R1000.

Shortfall of R1526.67 has disappeared from my statement.

17/10/2022 - Email received from Sharon Masina.."Please be advised that I have received your complaint of an escalation from your private banker which I am glad to look into and revert. Rest assured that the request received is receiving our utmost attention"
20/10/2022 - Sent a reply to Sharom Masina.."The reason for my complaint is my home loan was paid up and notice was given to stop all future debit orders, yet the full amount was deducted. Please do research as to why the complaint was made"

Current date - 29/10/2022 and I have not received replies from Sharon Masina from STANDARD BANK or a phone call (I have sent my abroad number to all involved

Day 31 - On this day Standard bank has made contact with me, only with the help of my PVT banker.
Sad to think that if I did not have a PVT banker this complaint would have probably gone of for months.

The R1526.67 that was owing to me had been used towards my property insurance premium and a statement was sent to me to verify.

I still cannot understand why after 31 days this could not have been sent earlier or explained.
