Unacceptable Delays, Poor Communication and Lack of Urgency Regarding My Business Account

I am extremely disappointed with the manner in which Standard Bank has handled the restriction placed on my business account.

My business account has been restricted since Friday following a payment received from a legitimate client. The funds are intended to secure products for a time-sensitive purchase order. Unfortunately, the continued restriction has prevented me from proceeding with the transaction, resulting in delays and putting my business relationship with my client at risk.

What is particularly frustrating is the lack of urgency and the constant need for me to follow up for feedback. I understand that banks have compliance and security procedures to follow, but customers running businesses should not be left in uncertainty without clear communication or reasonable assistance.

I have personally contacted ABSA's ***** Department to assist in resolving this matter. After investigating, ABSA confirmed that feedback had already been provided to Standard Bank on 3 November 2026. Despite this, I am still having to follow up to establish whether the correspondence has been received and what action is being taken.

This raises serious concerns about the communication and coordination between the two banks. Why am I still having to chase updates when the necessary feedback has apparently already been provided?

My business has financial commitments to honour, and these unnecessary delays are affecting my ability to operate and maintain the trust of my client.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am simply requesting transparency, accountability and urgency in handling this matter.

I would like Standard Bank's management to intervene urgently, locate and review ABSA's feedback, provide me with a clear explanation of the current status and expedite the resolution of the restriction on my business account.

I hope this complaint reaches the relevant decision makers and receives the attention it deserves.
