Unable to close account!
All I want is my credit card account closed/canceled.
I even went into a standard bank branch in Cresta to get this sorted but they just sat me at a desk and put me on the phone with someone from the help center.
After a 30 minute wait in the line in the call (AT A STANDARD BANK BRANCH!) I managed to get hold of a gentleman called Owen.
He helped me and said that my account would be closed within 24 to 48 hours. He also mentioned that I would have got an email confirmation of the account closure but I have not got that email.
I had this call on Saturday the 23rd of May 2026 and today is Friday the 29th of May 2026 and the account is still open!
There is going to be a big problem when Standard Bank charge me for having my account open at the beginning of June.
