TRYING TO CLOSE STANDARD BANK ACCOUNT

TRYING TO CLOSE MOM'S BANK ACCOUNT AT STANDARD BANK Mom 84 years of age Bedridden, requiring 24 hour care and can hardly walk.

My interaction with standard bank was been nothing short of atrocious service indicating that corporate systems has lost the human element.

Sequence of events (condensed version)

8 February 2022 @ 10:31 1. Called STD Bank *** and spoke to Pakiso (whom after I relayed my story) said that only the Branch Manager(Nontsha) can assist me. I was provided with the number *** (Promenade Mall, Mitchells plain, Cape Town) Pakiso redirected my call to the Branch. It rang for quite some time, and it cut out .. LEFT OUT OTHER DETAILS After holding on for quite some time, I was redirected back to switchboard and ended up by a lady Cynthia Sobeko... advised me:- 1. She emailed the branch manager. She noted that her email was read, but received no response 2. She Whatsapped the branch Manager, but no response 3. She tried calling the branch manager, but no answer

After 13 days(21st Feb 2022 @13:20), I lodged complaint with Standard Bank

23 Feb 2022 at 16:45 standard Bank advised that if I provide my details (which id did) they will respond within 24 hours.

25th Feb 2022 @ 10:15 LEFT OUT DETAILS STD bank Branch Manager after 17 days has still not returned my call or left a message Complaints department has not responded within 24 hours as advised they would(see above text)

So in closing STD bank wants an 84 year old, virtually bedridden woman, who wears a nappy to come into the branch to close the account.
