Treatment of a handed over account
Although my credit card account number 7 ********** ********** 15096 was initially handed over to collections department, I paid it off through a settlement discount on 10 August 2017. Settlement discount according to my understanding means that you pay the agreed amount and the account is paid off. If I check my Experian report now it says there is an overdue balance of R 1 360, THREE MONTHS after settling the account!!! Isn't it duty of the bank to liaise with its collecting agents and update records accordingly? Will the damage caused by this be rectified retrospectively?
