Total dissatisfaction

Actually 1 star rating is still over rated for what I’m experiencing with Standard/Stanbic Bank. I am a Standard Bank client for the past 37 years and had I known then what I know now I’m sure I would be treated much better if I had my account at another FSP. In 2018 my wife lost the battle with cancer and having a bond with Standard Bank And the bond being registered in both our names and insured I went through the normal claims process. All the paperwork was sent in via the bank official thinking the process would take maximum 1 month to be finalized,to my dismay and disappointment it took them 36 months to finalize and still during this time I still paid my bond faithfully and even though I inquired many time about the claim they would always say we will get back to you. At one stage I almost gave up it’s only until the lockdown that I took up this battle again and finally found a willing recipient to take it further than just getting back to me.After resending all paperwork was resent and thinking the process would be quicker to my surprise the same snail trail but this time the blame was on the insurance company due to lockdown who had a skeleton staff and the process was at a delay again.Even during the wait there was absolutely no communication from the Standard Bank consultant letting me the client know how far the process was and that upset me even more even though in I was told via email that I would be notified before hand when the settlement would be made and to my surprise on the 20/06/2020 when I went into my app on my phone I saw that I had a credit balance and my home loan had been settled but to my disgust not a word from the Standard Bank official handling the claim. This is only the beginning I had my 55’ plasma television going bust on me during lockdown and it being insured through Standard Bank I went through the normal claims process. The accessor came to my home accessed the damage to the television in my presence said and showed me the faulty or defective part and informed me it was a common fault due to the heat the plasma televisions produced this part gives in.After approximately 2weeks I received a phone call from the insurance saying that the fault was caused due to a power surge therefore the claim was denied even after me explaining to the official that there was no load shedding during lockdown and what the accessor had told me her report stated my claim was denied but what made me even more angry was a days later I received an email from my insurance stating that there will be an endor*****t on that section on my policy until there is proof that I had my 55” plasma television repaired OMG. To add to my woes with Standard Bank I app**** for the 3 month payment holiday that they offered due to the pandemic I cannot work because my work is based overseas.I took up the offer and app**** via the channels which was given by Standard Bank.I got a reply via email on the 05/06/2020 stating that I would be contacted by someone assisting me with my request up to this very day I have not received an email nor a phone call even though I emailed a reply to the first email I received all I got was a cc email stating “please reply to the clients request “ and still this client has no reply. I would like to pose this to the top brass of Standard Bank “ARE YOU READY TO MOVE FORWARD TO THE DIGITAL ERA”
