TOTAL DISREGARD FOR CLIENT'S RIGHTS

In 1999 I paid up my bond account with Standard Bank.
On the bank's advice I left the bond account open and continued to pay the property insurance.
When the bank increased the insurance premium they simply debited the excess to my bond account without notice.
This situation continued until I enquired in 2014. No attempt was made by Standard Bank to communicate with me, which I believe was their obligation and a service which they claim to provide and for which they charge, other than to hand me over to debt collectors.
I have subsequently paid Standard Bank in full and closed my bond, which has cost me about R44,000.00.
Standard Bank has advised me that they will refund R1097.88, which they claim will be paid into an account, again without seeking my consent.
Once again, Standard Bank seems to believe that this decision is their prerogative, without agreement being sought or required from their client.
