too much bank charges

I'm using a current account and I must say every January i have the same problem my account goes into a minus and now i owe the bank a whole R 1 048.50 because my account is on a minus i went in the branch 2018 when the year started and i wanted to close this account that was in khayelitsha mall standard bank because i cant deal with the charges !!!!! now its the beginning of the year samething happens i had to change my salary to going in my capitec account this month instead of standard bank i have so much to do with this salary and already standard bank wasnt R 1048.50 i want to close this account i have had it with standard bank and the charges really
