Too embarrassed to reply, Standard Bank?
I post a complaint about Standard Bank.
A full week later, Standard Bank has not bothered to reply.
The original post is pasted hereunder. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Standard Bank: Turning Customers Into Enemies
Stanley L | 29 Oct 2019, 13:56
Try reversing a payment from your Standard Bank account! Discover for yourself Standard Bank’s 3-phase approach to turning customers into enemies!
PHASE 1 Call Standard Bank on **********. Make four attempts, of up to 12 minutes per attempt.
PHASE 2 Try sending Standard Bank an e mail. (Try it; you’ve got to see this for yourself.)
PHASE 3 Go into the Bedford Gardens, GP branch.
The comedy starts.
Get sent to the phones to DIY. At last Guguletu at the call centre picks up the call.
Guguletu asks “security questions”.
• Do you have a Vodacom account? No. • When did you purchase your (Vosloorus address) property? I’ve never been anywhere near Vosloorus. • Do you have an account at Joshua Doore? No. • Do you have an account at Ellerines? No. • When did you become a director of (5-letter abbreviation)? Never heard of them.
Guguletu informs me I have failed the security test.
(Yes, seriously. You can’t make this stuff up.)
Next step: wait nearly half an hour to see consultant Bongane.
PHASE 3 CONTINUES
Bongane informs me (a) I have to wait 14 days; (b) There is a penalty of R214; (c) There is no guarantee of success, and; (d) I will take the loss of both, the principal amount plus the penalty if the reversal attempt is unsuccessful.
(Again, you can’t make this stuff up.)
And Standard Bank turns a customer into an enemy.
