Told to move home loan to another bank

I have had a home loan with Std Bank for years now. Apon receiving my home loan statement I decided to give them a call to see if they can review my interest rate as it is insane, (more than my car finance in fact!)

I was told that this can't be done (despite my previous home loan about 15 years ago this being done regularly at std bank) and that it is not an option because my contract says they can charge that rate. I was told the only way is to move the home loan to another bank basically.

Do I really have to move my loan to another bank Standard Bank? I have no issue doing this as most banks offer free switches and 30% off bond costs, but seems a bit drastic?

If its the way Std Bank work now, I will be sure to never consider them as a home loan provider again.
