Tired After 15 Years

I've been trying to close my credit card for over a month, however Standard Banks archaic processes and unreliable systems has caused me to resort to posting a complaint.

I've been to the branch multiply times to close my account, however, your branches are understaffed and your staff can't direct me to the right channels. All I wanted to do was close off my account, yet standard Bank was quick to chase me for R 50 that I owed on my Market Link account, an account that they shouldn't even be ducting from. When I moved my savings from this horrible bank to FNB, the account was empty. However Standard Bank was deducting money from the account. How is that allowed, even your staff said it was wrong.

However I paid off the Market Link and Credit Card, which was just service fees, and proceeded to close the account. I was tired of fighting and wanted to just leave your horrible company. Now I'm on hold for 15 minutes because your system doesn't have my correct details. Apparently I failed twice but answered the same questions correctly yesterday, which I was on hold for 30 minutes and again for another 10.

I'm glad I'm leaving after 15 years. The company name perfectly describes how the business is run. You are but standard in your industry.
