There is a strong link between educated leaders and quality services

"To destroy any nation,you don't need long range missiles or atomic bombs,but you have to lower the quality of education and allow cheating in exams because at the hands of such Doctors patients die,at the hands of such Accountants money get lost,at the hands of such religious scholars humanity is lost ,at the hands of such engineers buildings collapse". We have placed high level of trust to banks as we have entrusted them with the money that we work for our whole lives,it is a sad reality what I witnessed when I was still working for Standard Bank that education is not valued by that bank for example there is a lady by the name of Nomcebo Simelane who is the manager at their ***** department with no impressive education as she holds a diploma in marketing from Tut. Secondly talent is highly misplaced at Standard Bank how can you put a person with a marketing qualification on ***** department?. I got to know the qualifications of Nomcebo Simelane after she had fired me for the fact that I was highly educated than her and gave me lame reasons that were illogically. I was intrigued to search her linkedin profile and the qualifications listed there validated the reasons for which she fired me.

Many of us take education very seriously standard bank should stop misplacing talents. Standard bank should stop putting people with diplomas and degrees in management roles as such people will hinder the bank from roping in highly educated and talented people as such managers suffer from insecurities.

I am a strong believer that there is a strong link between quality services and Quality leadership with relevant skills and education. Standard Bank is sabotaged by Leaders who are not so educated like Nomcebo. I believe the role of hiring within standard bank should be centralized to HR and no powers to be delegated to managers
