The Sub-standard Standard Bank

What did, Mandela, say? “Never, never and never again shall it be that this beautiful land will again experience the oppression of one by another.” Here is my story: I wanted to pay up my Credit Card, and close my account at Standard Bank – there was still a sum of just more than a thousand Rand outstanding. At their branch in The Grove, Pretoria, I was told that they could NOT close my credit card at the bank, and that I was to phone the number on the back of the card to close the account. Which I did. On the phone, a young lady gave me the final amount outstanding; the SB bank account number, the branch code, etc. I immediately transferred the full amount from my FNB account. Three days later, another lady from SB phoned and told me that the young lady who I spoke to, was a trainee, and that she had given me an incorrect figure. There was STILL an outstanding amount. Which I immediately paid. It turns out that the figure, which I had been given by the second lady, was ALSO INCORRECT, and was MORE than what I was required to pay. Now SB owes ME money! So... what have I got to say? Just this: “Never, never and never again shall it be that I will have anything to do with this pathetic excuse for a bank – Sub-Standard Bank.”
