The extinction of the Standard Bank ATM

After 30 years of banking with SB, you have actually managed to convince me to switch banks to your competitors - a day I never thought would happen. You closed branches to save costs and climbed on this whole digitisation band-wagon because that is MOS the future, but you didn't just stop there! So I went on my usual weekly nicotine shopping, stopped at Brighton Square Kraaifontein, SB ATM right next to the store - very convenient, even if it was offline frequently, but to my surprise, what do I find - replaced by ABSA! Ok, so I go to Okavango Caltex Station SB ATM - nope offline. There's another cigarette store close by at Graanendal centre and SB ATM at the Pick & Pay - when I got there, guess what - replaced by ABSA! Ok, last chance - I remember there was an ATM at Pinehurst centre. Got there and jackpot again - replaced by ABSA! So you're not only closing branches are you... So thoroughly fed up, I begrudgingly paid the R30 just to get MY money after forking out R50 driving around looking for non-existing SB ATM's, just so I can get this over with. BTW, if you're clever, you can just issue yourself an Instant Money voucher, which is way cheaper than a withdrawal (clever pricing there), but what's the use of either if I you cannot find a freakin' ATM in the area!!! Way to go Standard Bank - veeeeery clever. So when will you release a phone app where I can just print the money right there from my phone? Can;t wait to see that happen. You know, there are still stores out there that charges cash for goods only - why? Because the banks charges them an arm and a leg for each transaction just to operate a very convenient card machine. See what I'm getting at? I don't even want to think what your less fortune customers must feel, who needs to use their hard-earned money to do a taxi-bus treasure hunt after a near-extinct ATM just to buy their monthly goodies. Well done Standard Bank - you're well on your way on the road to the digital cloud and you're saving so much money, but you've thrown your customers under the bus. Good luck and good riddance. Pitty I couldn't give zero starts.
