Terrible Service from Standard Bank

All companies have their own processes and procedures into place which is unknown to their consumer if not made aware of it. Therefore, large institutions like yourself employ customer service consultants to educate and assist your clients.

On 01 July 2016, I realized that the eft I had done was made to a closed account which no longer exist. The owner of that account is known to me and made me aware of this matter. On discovering this, I contacted your Client Services Department who confirmed that I needed to complete an EFT recall form and the cost of this, which I received on Monday, 04 July 2016. I completed and returned this.

Up until 20 July 2016, I did not receive feedback. Eventually, after sending an email to your Complaints Department (after making calls to your Client Services Department) I get an email confirming the funds were reversed into my account on 01 July 2016. While I understand that the transaction may have taken a day or so to reflect on my account, why did your consultant not advise me of such in the first place on the first when I called in. Why not advise me on the turn-around time to wait before completing this form. Why send me a form on 04 July 2016 if this was already done.

I contacted your Client Services Department and was advised that I should not be charged a fee if the recall was already done. But you charged me the recall fee anyway.

How can you charge me for a service you did not provide. Why am I not getting any feedback from all the numerous emails? How do you have a customer services department if you do not provide that?

This is pathetic customer services, should you require names emails, references, I have them all available to send to you.

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint regarding an EAP recall outcome.

Kindly acknowledge our sincere apology on the delay experienced regarding the complaint.

We have done an enquiry on your profile and noted that the R3500.00 was refunded to an account from where the payment was made which is the Elite plus account and this account is active.

Reviewer Update

We are not querying the R3500. Let me start again...

We are querying the R290 that was charged for the recall. The funds went back into the account before the recall was even processed. So this needs to be refunded.

Please read my initial query and advise further. this is now rather frustrating.
