Terrible Service

I am on maternity leave, comencing work in 2 weeks.

I am waiting for my UIF to pay out but in the meantime need to cover my debit orders monthly for I only received about half my salary for 3 months and the 4th unpaid.

Asking for an overdraft, they said no because myself and my husband share the bond on our house - very upset, but I understood.

So the 26th of April I phoned for a limit increase on my credit card, they said I need to send an email which I have done the same day and I will have an answer in 3 working days - sending 3 months bank statements, payslips and a letter from my work stating I am on maternity leave but starting work on 16 May again as requested.

3 working days and no answer. I emailed that address 3 times with no response and phoned twice. It's been 2 weeks now.

I held on the day before yesterday for 45 minutes for someone to try and find out why I don't get a response. Promised by end of business yesterday I will have an answer. Nothing.

I have banked with Standard Bank my whole life, my husband is a prestige member of Standard Bank, we have a house bond with Standard Bank and both of us good tracking records.

They phone me how many times during the year to offer me an increase on my credit card limit, then usually I say no because I do not need it. But now that I do, I have to beg, email, phone and pray that someday they will respond!

I think the service is terrible from Standard Bank, if they don't want to help a client, then at least respond with a "request declined"....
