Tax free account transfer gone wrong?
Good day, in April this year I transferred my tax free account from Standard Bank to Stanlib. I received a 'certificate'/ letter of confirmation confirming this. According to treasury, transfers of tax free accounts do NOT count as an annual/lifetime contributions, and yet, I have just been informed by Stanlib that they received my transfer as a "deposit" on their side and it therefore counts as a contribution. This means I am not able to make further contributions this tax year. This is unacceptable as I followed the right procedures. I have already informed Stanlib that between them and STD Bank, you need to resolve this immediately as I refuse to go through the rest of this tax year without being able to make further contributions.
