Suspicious debit order timing

Here's my story (numbers are made up) On 24th December: 1) I paid R3000 from my wifes Nedbank savings account into my Standard Bank current account using the instant pay option. 2) The instant the money was in my Standard Bank account, R2500 was debited and paid to our Nedbank bond. This debit order is definitely scheduled for after 25th of the month, so it went off several days early. 3) The money has not yet appeared in the Nedbank bond account on 27th.

How did it happen? Can a debit order be triggered by a deposit into an account? Is this even legal?

Also this month my account was debited twice for the same loan repayment and the additional amount was not accessible to me.

I needed that money before Christmas and pay day and it's my money, not Standard Banks and not Nedbanks.

Is this something to do with the fact that the banks computers don't work on weekends and holidays? Last year a transfer took something like 7 days over New Year which I like to think is because the all the servers had a wild party, got staggering drunk and had a blinding hangover for two days.

Here's another one.

We all know banking is legalized theft, of course?

I transferred money from my Standard Bank current account to my Standard bank credit card and it did not appear in the credit card account. I called the call center and was told that it had not been cleared and the clearing department were working half day. A transfer from Standard Bank to Standard Bank had not been cleared? Please explain?

When this happens, and this is not the first time, the money is gone from one account and is not in the other account within the same institution. Where is it? It's money, it hasn't disappeared.

I call that theft.

Why do I stay with Standard Bank? I don't know either.

Payment to Homeloan account....

After a call to the SB call center today it would appear that the only ways I can pay into my bond account is to link it to my internet banking profile or go into a branch and do a manual payment. Both require me visiting a branch. Really? In the 21st century?
Since the branches have been closed down including the Randburg branch near me, the waiting time at Cresta branch is now extremely long.

Standard Banks service just gets worse and worse and worse. But, hey, Standard Bank is making more money since I'm doing more of the work and spending more time now, and I'm sure the directors are very pleased with themselves and there are fat bonuses all around.
I hope some of the profits filter down to the people on the ground who bear the brunt of this.
