Student Loan Confusion

Recently got a student Loan with Standard Bank through Pearsons Institude of Highher Education.

upon realisign my debit hasnt gone through yet, i phoned in and held for over 25 minutes to speak to a consultant. nontheless it is the nature of teh business so i understood.

I was advised that teh debit would go off on teh 28th, which i do not mind of course.

Now the challenge came in when i enquired about paying the Interest to teh STudent loan i have in advance.

i was transfered to a department that would assist me to make arrangements and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Grant. this conversation took place at around 15h00 to 15h15 on teh 27th of Feb.

I must highlight that the tone of Grant was not so welcoming, it was as if he is forced to take calls.

anyways, secondly i was advised that there is no way one can make arranegments to pay the interest upfront, and also the interest that i was charged for the year would be payable yearly until the 3 years lapses, which means i will pay the interest for the year 2017, together with the interest of 2018 should we get another student loan in 2018?

I was under teh impression that once my R12000 interest is paid for 2017, in 2018 one pays the interest just for the second year.

please may i get clarity on this soonest.
