Student Loan Aplication

My kid apply for a extension on her study loan. This loan was declined due to \Insufficient funds to afford full repayments". I contacted the branch that assisted us before and asked them to clarify the reason that the loan was declined. The following was shared with me (The application was declined due to insufficient surplus. We base our affordability assessment on the surety having to service / repay both the interest and capital repayments. This is done to ensure that if the student defaults and is unable to repay the loan that we have recourse to the surety and that when we undertook our affordability assessment that we did not lend recklessly.) The problem is firstly that they don't take inconsideration that I have a household income they only work on my income. Secondly they predict that my kid will not be able to pay the loan back after she completed her studies. Thirdly I want to know how do they do there calculation which they can predict what my and my kid's financial status will be in two years time. They in force me to apply for a personal loan so that my kid can continue with her studies. My question is this fear that I have to pay two loans back at the same time?"""
