*****ing from customers is Standard Banks standard

On 15 January 2020, my vehicle finance from the bank was debited with an ADDITIONAL amount of approximately R647. I immediately contacted the bank to enquire about this extra amount. I was informed that it was added because the bank emailed me to request proof of car insurance and since I had not responded the bank assumed I was one of the clients that cancel their insurance and lie to the bank. Standard Bank had therefore taken a policy for my vehicle with Hollard Insurance and added that amount.

I denied having ever recived such communication and requested that it be sent again. It is then that the consultant I spoke to picked up that emails were being sent to the WRONG email address, my surname had been misspelt ALL THREE TIMES that the communication was sent. Call ***

In fact, I am NOT a **** and I have always had insurance and was able to provide proof of that. I requested that MY MONEY which was effectively ****** from me by the bank using dubious means to be refunded.

On 20 Jan, I spoke to what sounded like a well-trained Sicelo Khoza (call ***) who apologised and said he would get back to me. I have missed his phone call and tried to phone the bank back to receive and update. I spoke to Palesa Maduna who says she can't help me and really couldnt care less about my problem, she even refused to give me a reference number saying 'she cant issue a reference number because this issue doesn't belong to her department'

This is ridiculous!! How am I supposed to know the management & company structure of Standard Bank? How can I contact the complaints division and still have to be redirected over and over again. This is such disgusting service. I have a savings account with this bank as well and I am moving it! No wonder you guys are losing customers, YOU ARE *******
