In 2018 July I lost my job and with my provident funds payouts , I managed to only pay for few months hoping to get another job which never happened until December 2019 where I was re-called by my previous employer on a 5 months contract ending in April 2019. I notified SBSA and requested assistance in terms of revisiting my interest since I was no longer employed and that regular payments were going to be impossible due to my working conditions. I have not heard from the Bank since then up until I approached NCR seeking a third party intervention. Soon after that the investigation was lodged by NCR ref: Fikile Ledwaba which the agreement was reached in January 2020 where SBSA offered a 50% discount of R31251.00 which the outstanding amount and all required documents were signed and emailed through in February 2020. I could not get hold of NCR nor SBSA immediately after that due to total shut down of the entire Country due to Covid-19 until October 2020 where I received an email from NCR notifying me of that the file was closed and that they were no longer prepared to entertain my issue. I was left with no contact person from the SBSA to talk to try and have the matter finalized. Having tried all means to resolve the issue at hand with the bank with no luck, I then receive a letter of Demand from the Bank Attorneys in August 2021 to settle the amount R37000.00 or and consult them inorder to make payment arrangements, I then requested a statement of the account in question which then showed shocking figures, I then advised the bank's attorney's that the matter was being handled internally and that I was not employed and requested that they do not proceed with the legal action since I was resolving the matter with SBSA ref: Roshnee Powardi who was forever unavailable as was working from home and unable to take calls nor respond to my emails. I then took the matter to internal resolution Centre ref: Mpho Khumalo who also answered my email once and no responses on follow up emails sent to her. I need Hellopeter to help me get someone who can attend to my query and have it resolved amicably since there are lot of errors made by the Bank but no one seem to be correcting that instead I am pushed to pay through the Attorneys with interest and even though I have raised my dissatisfactions the way this whole account was handled and report from the Bank Attorney's is not the through reflection of what transpired on this account. I feel that my consumer rights were not respected by SBSA. Regards P. Mlangeni
