STD BANK REFUSING TO PROVIDE SETTLEMENT AMOUNT ON A BOND

<p>I have a bond with Std bank and last year i fell behind with my monthly instalments. I was 3 months behind and on the 4th month I tried to catch up by paying extra. In November I called Std Bank to settle the arrears but I was told that I was late to make payment arrangement as my account was handed over to their legal team. </p> <p>Long story short, I want to settle my bond account and Std bank and their attorneys are refusing to give the conveyancer the settlement amount and this has been dragging since early March 2017. My question is why would a bank take this long and refuse to give me a settlement amount if I want to cancel the bond? I will be taking this matter to the ombudsman as I feel that there is something fishy going on.</p>
