STAY AWAY FROM TANDARD BANK

On 21 March 2025 I received a call from someone who claimed to be a Standard Bank employee and he offered me a credit increase on my personal credit card, which I welcomed. A few minutes after the call, I checked on my app and all was good, the limit had been increased. On April 4th 2025 (I had not yet used the money available to me), I received a call from someone who also claimed she is from Standard Bank. She told me there is a mistake that was made 2 weeks ago when they were processing the increase on my credit limit so she's calling to rectify that. And she explained the mistake to be "linking of accounts which were not supposed to be linked and explained how this will inconvenience my day to day transacting". From that call my accounts ended up being de*****ed, and no I did not share my pin with the caller! I received an sms notification regarding some money that went out of my account and I tried to call Standard Bank's ***** department and held for more than an hour with no answer. At that time I couldn't even access my app. I woke up on Saturday the 5th of April and tried to log on to my app again, this time I was lucky. That's when I realized that R150k was taken from my revolving loan account, my money market got wiped clean and some money was taken from my tax free investment and current account. I tried to call the ***** department, and again I held for almost 2 hours and my call never got answered. I tried to call my then Private Banker, he never picked up nor returned my calls, then I ended up calling my Business Banker, who assisted me with linking me up with the ***** department. Only then I managed to report the *****. I opened the ***** case at police station as instructed by Standard Bank, got the case number, did the affidavit and sent everything Standard Bank said they need to start with the investigation and I was told it takes a maximum of 6 weeks to complete the investigation. Throughout the 6 weeks waiting, no one ever reached out to keep me posted, I am the one who's s been calling (still my calls weren't answered, the only way was through my Business Banker) and even then I'd be told "sorry ma'am, we don't have any update yet and remember we are still within the 6 weeks we had advised you about". Now the 6 weeks has long elapsed, and as always, through the assistance of my Business Banker, last week I got linked up with the ***** Dept and the lady who assisted me said they are still waiting for the agent bank - Capitec, to respond and she's not allowed to share any further details of the case with me. Now, that's ridiculous, this is my money, yet I am not allowed to know what happened and how far is the investigation is and how is the bank planning to repay me??? Wow! Yesterday June the 4th, I requested my Business Banker to link me up with the ***** department again, and the gent who picked up the phone said he's not allowed to share the details, he would rather escalate the matter and request someone to give me a call, no one has called since. While the investigation process is delayed, Standard Bank has not stopped charging me interest on the revolving loan account, they have done so twice now and they have deducted payment towards that from my current account twice. On top of that I am loosing out on interest on both my tax free and money market accounts. When I scrutinize the statement, all these payments were made immediate payments, yet Standard Bank has a daily limit for immediate payments that you can make. The biggest question is how did the bank allow all those to be an immediate payment? Why are my calls being ignored?Could this be an internal job? Nonetheless I want my money back, I want the interest on accounts I don't owe to be reversed, I want to be paid for interests that I have missed out on and I want compansation for all the inconvenience caused. A friendly advice to anyone with an account at Standard Bank, YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE and you will be ignored and be treated like trash when you reach out, TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!!

Responding on this platform instead of contacting me directly doesn't make any difference, it just shows how unimportantI am to you a a client and low and disrespectfulyou are towards your clients. And maybe you are used to clients that seat back and be ashamed because you make them feel small and useless, I will not be one of those. I will fight until my last tooth falls off before I give up. You know where my money went amd I demand answers and a refund
